Financially Connecting the World Through Mobile

The second annual GSMA Mobile Money Summit was held in Barcelona, Spain on 22-25 June 2009. The event brought together more than 450 senior executives from financial services institutions, mobile network operators, development organizations and solutions vendors, as well as regulatory and policy makers. A spectacular agenda included  a comprehensive demonstration of the addressable markets, a showcase for new solutions, and a forum for sharing key success factors and lessons learned from around the world.  Discussion topics included  the continued need for cross-organization collaboration, strategies for banking the unbanked and developments in progressive mobile banking technology.  In addition, 22 organizations exhibited at the Mobile Money Summit.  This offered attendees a showcase of the most innovative new mobile money products and services, as well as a great forum for networking and deal making.  Without a doubt, the 2009 GSMA Mobile Money Summit will help to stimulate greater understanding, collaboration and progress for all mobile money stakeholders globally, regionally and locally.
